They've been together for years

Coronation Street’s Alan Halsall has hinted his alter-ego Tyrone and his girlfriend Fiz will grow old together.

Alan, who has played Tyrone for over 20 years, posted a picture on his Instagram with Jenny McAlpine, who plays Fiz.

The picture shows a before and after picture of the pair doing the Faceapp age challenge.

Alan captioned the post: “Fiz & Tyrone growing old together.”

One fan commented on the photo: “Future Jack and Vera xx.”

Tyrone and Fiz began an affair while he was with abusive ex-girlfriend Kirsty Soames, who he has a daughter with called Ruby.

After Kirsty went to prison, Tyrone and Fiz began living together with Ruby and Fiz’s daughter Hope, who she had with John Stape.

Last year Tyrone cheated on Fiz with Gemma Winter after they’d had an argument, but Fiz eventually forgave him.

Jennie left Coronation Street last year to go on maternity leave.

The actress welcomed her second child, a baby girl named Hilda, in October with her husband Chris Farr.

The couple also have a four-year-old son named Albert.

On screen, Fiz left the cobbles with daughter Hope to take her daughter to Birmingham in the hope her bad behaviour could be dealt with in a specialist unit.

Viewers saw Hope’s behaviour getting worse resulting in her exclusion from Bessie Street Primary school for biting a teacher.

Hope also deliberately let Evelyn’s dog Cerberus go on a tram bound for Rochdale. She refused to apologise to Evelyn who was furious.

Fiz and Tyrone decided to go to visit a therapist about the little girl’s behaviour and Tyrone found a school that could help.

Jennie recently confirmed she was back filming with Isabella Flanagan, who plays Hope, meaning their characters will be returning soon.

Coronation Street is on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 7.30pm and 8.30pm.
