But after months of going on about her travel plans and her leaving Weatherfield, Kate didn’t get to have a goodbye scene.

Instead she was just given a toast in the Rovers from her family.

And the lack of seeing Kate in the back of a cab leaving the cobbles left fans utterly enraged.

More than that, Kate not sharing a goodbye scene with her best friend Daniel despite him facing his wife Sinead’s death was unforgivable for fans.

One said: “The way Corrie have treated Kate and Rana the last year has been nothing more than disgraceful.

“They deserved so much better.”

Earlier in the episode, Kate went to forgive Gary Windass for Rana’s death, telling him it wasn’t his fault.

Fans know Gary was to blame and has framed his murder victim Rick Neelan, but Kate has no idea.

After he gave her money so she could travel, she told him: “I still don’t think I can accept it because you were not responsible for Rana’s death, Rick was.

“Directly or indirectly, I’m sick of thinking about it. Let go of that guilt. I forgive you.”

But will she return when Gary is exposed?
