Coronation Street star Alan Halsall defends decision to have second hair transplant

Company who performed the procedure has shared photos

Alan Halsall has defended his decision to undergo a second hair transplant.

The Coronation Street star – who joined the cobbles as Tyrone Dobbs in 1998 – first underwent the procedure in 2016, and he has now opted for another treatment, and hopes it will show other men “they have options”.

He told the Daily Mirrror: “I’ve spoken with so many men who have confidence issues because of their hair, maybe this will let them know they have options.

“People have it done all the time – it’s not something to be ashamed of.”

The 38-year-old star went to Manchester’s Farjo Hair Institute for the transplant, and they were delighted to have him back.

The company wrote on Instagram: “It was great to have Alan come back after being thrilled with the results from his first procedure.”

Alan’s Corrie co-star Jack P. Shepherd has also had transplant work, and he previously said it has become “a common thing”.

He added: “It’s such a common thing for guys to have now – like a male version of a boob job.”

Alan and his girlfriend Tisha Merry – who played Steph Britton on the ITV soap – went public with their relationship last month.

And it seems their friends were glad the couple confirmed their romance at his co-star Sam Aston and Briony Aston’s wedding, after the pair had told their pals to keep quiet.

One of Tisha’s friends posted a picture of the couple and admitted she was pleased she would “no longer get [bleeped]” for sharing the image, and said it made her “eyes leak” seeing her friend “so happy”.

The couple had both shared the same image of themselves embracing in the sunshine at Sam and Briony’s wedding.

Alan captioned the picture: “Congratulations Mr & Mrs Aston

What a wonderful day, we’re so proud to be part of it (sic)”

Tisha simply wrote a yellow heart emoji as her caption, and Alan posted in the comments: “You’re not a bad + 1 I suppose (sic)”
