Coronation Street SPOILERS: Bernie Winter ‘will try to KILL Kel after discovering truth of abuse’

She's after revenge...

Bernie Winter will be left devastated and angry, when she discovers her on/off boyfriend Kel abused her son Paul as a child in Coronation Street.

Viewers know that the sick paedophile subjected Paul Foreman to prolonged sexual abuse when he was growing up – but Bernie has no idea of the ordeal her son went through.

But all that is about to change, as the truth will be revealed in explosive and emotional upcoming episodes.

According to The Sun Online, Bernie – played by Jane Hazlegrove – will first refuse to believe her son when he breaks down and tells her the truth about Kel grooming him as a teenager.

In scenes that will no doubt upset and enrage those watching from home, Bernie will essentially call her son a liar.

But the scales will eventually fall from her eyes when she finds evidence that Kel has lied to her.

And Bernie becomes intent on getting revenge for the terrible deeds she didn’t protect her son from.

An insider told the newspaper: “All hell will break loose when Bernie finds out the truth that Kel did abuse Paul.”

They continued: “With Paul’s words ringing in her ears, she starts to search for anything that will put her mind at rest and discovers a box of pictures that Kel took of Paul.

“Bernie realises immediately that Paul was telling the truth and she flies into a violent rage.

“She tries to kill Kel by beating him up with a stool for what he has done to her son and family.”

The source went on to say the scenes would be highly dramatic…

Actor Joe Alessi recently confirmed he would be leaving the soap after Kel’s abuse comes to light.

He told Lorraine: “It is finite and I’ll never be a regular on Coronation Street.

“My role will come to an end… There’s going to be a lot of fallout.”

Soap fans know that Kel convinced Paul his abuse was actually a consensual relationship – despite Paul being underage.

In distressing scenes last month, Paul attacked Kel after Kel knocked back his attempt to kiss him.
