Coronation Street SPOILER: Sinead Tinker ‘will die after losing cancer battle’

Actress Katie McGlynn will make a heartbreaking exit from the soap

Sinead Tinker doesn’t have long left on Coronation Street, according to reports.

The new mum and wife of Daniel Osbourne will lose her battle with cancer in tragic scenes to be shown in the coming months, says The Sun.

On Wednesday night (July 10), a consultant told Sinead the good news that her tumour had shrunk and there’s no evidence that it’s spread.

However, Sinead later confided in husband Daniel that, despite the good news, she’s still scared that the cancer could return at any time.

And, according to a TV insider speaking to the tabloid newspaper, her fears will be proved right.

Sinead will reportedly receive the devastating news that all treatment has failed and the only option left to her is whether she wants to die at home or in a hospice.

In devastating scenes that follow, Sinead – played by actress Katie McGlynn – will make a heartbreaking exit from the soap when her character loses her cancer battle.

If true, there can be no return to Corrie for Katie, who will be leaving the ITV soap after six years in Weatherfield.

A TV insider told the newspaper: “From her two rocky relationships to the mini-bus crash, she’s been in some of Corrie’s most captivating storylines.

“And producers will be sad to see Katie leave the soap, but she will make an unforgettable departure which is set to leave viewers in tears.”

Sinead was diagnosed with cervical cancer last year, and the emotional plot saw her make the agonising decision between having her and Daniel’s baby or having radiotherapy which might save her life.

She put her baby son, Bertie, first and gave birth in January.

After having her child, Sinead had aggressive chemotherapy, and seems to be beating it.

Reacting to the news on Digital Spy Forums, one fan wrote: “This really saddens me, as I love the Sinead/Daniel pairing, but it was always going to end this way if the rumours about Katie leaving were true!

“Better than one of them having an affair or something equally ridiculous, but sad nevertheless!”

Another added: “Very sad news but inevitable. Rob Mallard and Katie McGlynn will be terrific in this.”

Others predicted it would be the Christmas/New Year storyline.
