When it comes to love and sex, Coronation Street certainly sees its fair share of action.
But forget Maria and Ali, Ryan and Alya, and Sarah and Adam… It’s perhaps time for some vintage romancing courtesy of Weatherfield veteran Roy Cropper.

This week, Roy moved in with Tyrone Dobbs and Evelyn Plummer at number nine and she was none to impressed to discover she’s now sharing a room with Ruby.
Next week, the ITV soap will tease a possible romance between Roy and Evelyn, as they are thrown together whether they like it or not, and eventually become closer.
At first, the pair are at loggerheads as Evelyn continues to struggle living under the same roof as Roy, but she’ll start to see the Roy we all know and love during the course of the upcoming weeks.

On Friday (July 19), Evelyn accuses Larry of doing a botch job of the cafe wiring and trying to fleece Roy. But, when Roy refuses to back her up, Evelyn is left feeling frustrated.
She launches a smear campaign to put the electrician out of work and her behaviour horrifies Roy, but he refuses to let her take the blame when Larry violently confronts him believing he’s the one spreading the malicious rumours.
As Roy continues to worry about everything, he’s touched when Ed informs him that an anonymous friend has paid the deposit so that he can start the wiring repairs in the cafe.
Hmmm, we wonder?
As Roy tries to discover the identity of his generous benefactor, Evelyn advises him to accept the gift with good grace and leave it at that.
But as Roy and Evelyn continue to bicker, Tyrone can’t help but notice an underlying fondness between them. Could their friendship develop into something more?
This week, we’ve seen Evelyn accuse Roy of fancying her, telling her fellow Weatherfield residents all about it.
In hilarious scenes, she said: “I was forced to sleep in a child’s bunk thanks to Roy Cropper, the most selfish man on the planet. Don’t be fooled by the bumbling exterior. That man is a laser. He knows what he wants and he goes out and gets it.”
When pushed by Michelle and Tyrone about what she’s hinting at, Evelyn stated: “He wants nookie with me!
“You should see the smouldering looks he gives me when you’re not around. I don’t like feeling violated in my own home… The man’s obsessed, is what he is.”
