It's a big day for Emma as the day of her father's funeral arrives in tonight's Coronation Street (August 21 2019) -and some former cobbles residents make a reappearance.
A couple of weeks ago, Emma was left devastated when her father was diagnosed with stomach cancer and passed away shortly after.
However, her relationship with mum, Fiona Middleton, was shaken when her dad revealed that he was not her biological father.
Poor Emma has struggled to come to terms with the news but as she prepares for his funeral tonight viewers will see some former characters return.
In a preview shared on Coronation Street Street's official Twitter page, Emma and her brother Morgan, who was only a baby was he left the cobbles in 1998, were seen outside the church.
The brother and sister are stood outside with Maria, and soon began bickering over whether Fiona cares about Emma.
Morgan says Fiona has sent him a video message to play for Emma but she refuses to watch it.
Morgan decides to play it anyway.
In the video Fiona tells Emma she can't believe how quickly John's passing has happened.
She asks Emma to Skype her when she gets home from the funeral and says Emma's 'father' was a good man, before finishing by saying she was thinking of her daughter and she loved her.
Emma however, is still furious that Fiona didn't come back to the UK to support her.
Although Emma doesn't know who her biological father is, it looks likely that it is Corrie's resident Steve McDonald, who dated Fiona when she lived on Coronation Street.
Audrey and Steve's mum Liz worked out the date of Emma's birth was nine months after Steve and Fiona dated for the second time.
Fiona must've left the cobbles when she a couple of weeks pregnant with Emma.
Upon finding out this news, Steve has tried to support Emma by giving her money towards her dad's funeral and taking her for lunch.
On Monday, Steve took some strands of her hair to do a DNA test and he's set to reveal the truth to Emma tonight.
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
