Coronation Street SPOILER: Imran arrested

Why is he in the frame?

Imran Habeeb finds himself on the wrong side of the law next week when he gets accused of meddling in the police investigation into the Underworld roof collapse.

Ever since the factory in Coronation Street collapsed, killing Rana Habeeb on her wedding day, everyone has been struggling to work out who is guilty of the tragedy.

But as health and safety investigator Wayne Hayes continues his search for answers, the people of Weatherfield are getting impatient… especially Rana’s brother, Imran.

When Imran sees Wayne in the cafe next week he confronts him, demanding answers about Carla’s sudden disappearance from the cobbles.

But Wayne isn’t getting into a conversation about his work and leaves the cafe, only to accidentally leave his confidential health and safety report on the table.

The lure of reading it is all too much for Imran and he takes a sneaky peak at the file… but, of course, Wayne returns and catches him red-handed.

Nick is there to step in and diffuse the situation between the men, and soon Wayne is on his way again, but when he later finds his car has been broken into and the report is missing, he’s convinced Imran is behind the theft.

Despite Imran protesting his innocence over the whole thing, the police arrive and leave everyone stunned as they drag him in for questioning… but is he really the one to blame?

As he is grilled at the station, Imran continues to claim he is innocent… but if he didn’t take the health and safety report from Wayne’s car, who did?

As the police continue to quiz Imran about Nick’s involvement, Imran starts to wonder why they have got such an interest in the Underworld boss and becomes convinced that maybe he is implicated in Wayne’s report.

But is Nick more involved in the factory roof collapse than he has let on?

He is certainly one of the suspects that Coronation Street has lined up from the start, plus he openly admitted that he would be better off if the factory burned to the ground so that he could get the insurance money… but does that make him guilty?

Could Imran’s hunch that Nick is behind the disaster that killed Rana turn out to be right?

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
