There’s huge drama heading for Coronation Street next week when Peter Barlow’s beloved boat goes up in flames.
But as the police try to work out who is responsible for the inferno, it soon becomes clear that Carla Connor is hiding a huge secret.
Next week sees Carla worry about best friend Roy Cropper as he continues to act out of character following his mum, Sylvia’s, recent death.
When Roy confesses he is having trouble sleeping, Carla is desperate to help. But it soon becomes clear she has got more pressing things to worry about when Peter’s boat mysteriously goes up in flames one night.

As a crowd of Weatherfield residents gather around the blazing boat, Peter watches on helplessly until Asha reveals Simon is on board.
The desperate dad races to save his son from the flames, but will he make it in time?
The mystery of who started the fire is the talk of the cobbles… but who is the secret arsonist?
While Peter is adamant that Abi is the one who started the fire in an act of drunken revenge after their romance went sour, it is clear it’s actually Carla who is hiding something sinister.
Not believing Abi’s claims of being innocent, Peter asks Carla to check the CCTV footage from Underworld to see if it throws up any clues.
But when the police arrive later to check the footage for themselves, Sarah is shocked to see that the last few days have been deleted.
Carla is clearly hiding something, but what? Is she protecting herself, or someone else?

When Peter finds out from Sally that the footage has mysteriously gone missing, he decides to confront his ex to get some answers.
He storms round to Roy’s flat and accuses her of starting the fire… but while Carla denies any involvement, could Peter be closer to home than he realises?
It has been claimed that Roy could be the one who starts the fire while he is sleepwalking, but only time will tell if he is the true culprit, or if there is more to this storyline than meets the eye.
