Coronation Street’s David faces temptation with newcomer Natalie amid engagement

Newcomer Natalie might cause trouble for the couple

Coronation Street’s David Platt and Shona Ramsey have only been engaged for a few weeks, but it looks set to hit the rocks already when he develops chemistry with newcomer Natalie.

Viewers will know Natalie helped Nick Tilsley steal gran Audrey’s £80K inheritance from Archie Shuttleworth. David knows the truth and blackmailed Nick into setting up a barbers together in return for his silence.

Now Natalie has pitched up on the cobbles and wants to make a life there – much to Nick’s annoyance.

She’s forced Nick into giving her a job in the barbers and although he can’t stand her, she’s gets on really well with David.

Cassie Bradley, who plays Natalie, tells Ent Daily: “I think there are the seeds of a crush there.

“He’s the first person in a long while that’s given her a chance and she admires him for speaking up for her.

“She’s fought for everything her whole life then suddenly she’s got someone in her corner and I think that’s where that seed will develop.”

But will her feelings be reciprocated?

In an interview with Metro.co.uk Cassie also said: “[David] makes her laugh and they are a bit of a double act and David really likes her.

“What comes from that is this flicker of feelings – she hasn’t had great relationships in the past so her feelings for David could become more than friendship. They certainly get on very well. He sees her more for who she actually is.”

With David and Shona being a popular pairing, people might not take kindly to Natalie coming between them. And that’s not to mention the fact she helped con soap stalwart Audrey, who many fans felt devastated for.

But Cassie’s hopeful people will see Natalie for the good person she is underneath it all.

“She’s not bad, I think she’s manipulative, I think she’s a chancer, but then she’s not had an easy life, she’s had to live hand to mouth and she takes whatever chances come her way.

“I also think she gets bored quite quickly and she’s looking for excitement.”

David might be warming to Natalie’s presence, but Nick certainly won’t be.

“Natalie holds all the cards,” Cassie reveals. “She has all the power, but she uses her humour and her charm too to outwit him and that really unsettles him.”

It sounds like this newcomer is certainly about to ruffle some feathers!
