Coronation Street SPOILER: Daniel Osbourne ‘turns to alcohol’ after Sinead’s devastating diagnosis

Her illness will tear their lives apart

Coronation Street’s Daniel Osbourne is set to have his own health problems, after wife Sinead Tinker is told she has just months to live.

Ken’s son will reportedly turn to alcohol in an attempt to blot out the horrifying reality that Sinead is dying and won’t get to see her son Bertie grow up.

Next week, Sinead will be told the devastating news that the cancer she thought she’d beaten has returned and spread to her lymph nodes and liver.

In tragic scenes, she discovers she has approximately three or four months left to live.

After an ill-timed kiss with Bethany Platt, Daniel’s guilt and horror at being left without Sinead all combine to lead him to drink.

New photos, published in The Sun, show Daniel collapsed on the floor after drinking a skinful.

The pictures suggest he’s found unconscious after drinking an entire bottle of whiskey.

Next to his lifeless body, there lies an empty bottle and one of Bertie’s soothers.

Luckily, a dog-walker finds Daniel lying on the pavement and calls an ambulance as Daniel’s life hangs in the balance.

Has he overdosed?

Reports say Sinead will die after discovering husband Daniel cheated on her with Bethany.

In a recent interview, actress Katie McGlynn discussed bringing the emotional storyline to life, saying: “Daniel and Sinead are just broken, we just tried to play it with as much realism as we could, they’re both in disbelief.

“Sinead doesn’t understand – she just wants to be a mum to Bertie, she wants to know how long she’s got left. They’re both completely devastated and in shock and all the emotion just comes pouring out.”

Sinead was diagnosed with cervical cancer in October, but delayed having treatment so she could give birth to her son earlier this year.

Coronation Street worked closely with charities Mummy’s Star and Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust on this storyline to ensure accuracy.
