In new sneak peek pictures, Coronation Street has revealed Gail Rodwell is alive and well – and she will be back on the cobbles in the coming months.
Posting the snaps to their Twitter page, Gail can be seen sitting on the sofa in the Platts’ living room giving granddaughter Bethany Platt a hug.

Fans were quick to comment on the pictures, with one saying: “So pleased to see Helen back filming! Can’t wait for Gail to be on our screens again.”
Another added: “Great, Gail’s back, hope she comes back with a new husband!”
“So happy to see that Gail is back,” agreed a third.
The last we saw of Gail she was boarding a flight to Thailand after her sons, Nick Tilsley and David Platt were in court for stealing grandmother Audrey’s £80k.
Everyone blamed Gail for the way her boys had turned out and she felt the family would be better off without her.
But appearing on Good Morning Britain earlier this month, actress Helen Worth updated summer hosts Kate Garraway and Richard Madeley about her character.
With no one on-screen knowing where she actually is, and viewers unsure if she’s still in Thailand, Kate asked if Helen could shed any light on the subject.
“Currently, Gail on Corrie is missing,” Kate said. “Could this be the end?”
Looking a bit flustered, Helen stuttered over the question before responding: “I’m not sure if I’m supposed to say.”
She then continued: “I am still here and I am alive and well, I’m in Thailand, everybody knows I’m in Thailand.”
Gail wasn’t the most popular Platt when she left – will anyone be pleased to see her back?

During the interview, Richard went on to ask the actress if the lines between her and Gail ever blur given she’s been playing her for so long.
But Helen laughed and replied: “No, If I went home as Gail I don’t think I’d have any friends – I don’t think I’d have a husband!”
