Corrie fans in hysterics with Sally’s smutty comment

It's not something anyone thought Sally would be saying on Corrie

Sally Metcalfe is a Coronation Street comedy legend.

She’s had a tough year in Weatherfield since being set up for fraud by conman Duncan Radfield, sent to prison and freed just before she was murdered by her cellmate.

But she’s come out of it with her personality intact and her humour in full force as she proved last night.

While defending herself for turning on her own boss Carla Connor to make sure Abi Franklin didn’t go down for burning Peter Barlow’s boat, Sally uttered a line of comedy gold.

She said: “I will not see a woman fingered for a crime she didn’t commit.”

Actress Sally Dynevor delivered the line with a straight face despite it’s obvious double meaning and predictably fans were bent double laughing.

One said: “Christ on a bike, #coronationstreet is riddled with innuendo this evening!”

A second said: “#coronationstreet pulling out all the stops in the fnar fnar stakes tonight.”

A third said: “#coronationstreet I wont see a woman fingered for crime she didn’t commit.’ Comedy gold!”

Another said: @itvcorrie omg nearly spat my brew out at sally ‘Don’t want the wrong woman fingering for a crime she didn’t commit.”

It wasn’t just Sally making viewers laugh either.

Tracy Barlow provided the gags when she mentioned her late mum Deirdre’s famous stuffed marrow.

Despite hating it when she was alive, Tracy’s decided it was the best thing ever and after eating her meal at The Bistro last night she said: “It’s not a patch on my mum’s stuffed marrow.”

One viewer laughed and wrote: “Oh yes I remember Deirdre’s stuffed marrow. #Corrie”
