Coronation Street fans’ fury as soap cancelled for the football

The football is ruining things again

Coronation Street fans are still raging after the soap was cancelled for a week for the football.

They hit out at ITV for leaving them with a week without a Weatherfield visit with no episodes last night and no new episodes until Wednesday.

One said: “No #CoronationStreet #corrie tonight because of football 🤬🤬🤬 Not happy!!”

A second said: “@ITV you’ve cancelled Coronation street again!!! Why? Football again, brilliant that’s our night ruined, very inconsiderate ITV.🤬🤬🤬”

Another said: “My soap night has been ruined by the chuffin football 😡 #emmerdale #corrie #coronationstreet”

Corrie usually airs double bills on Fridays and Mondays, but England’s Euro 2020 qualifier with Czech Republic air last night on ITV and their trip to Bulgaria will air on Monday night (October 14 2019) so we certainly won’t see any action from the cobbles.

But while it has been a furious let down for fans, when it is all over the soap will give them seven episodes the week it is back.

On the week commencing October 21 there will be seven episodes for what will be Sinead Tinker’s emotional final scenes.

A special look back on her time in Weatherfield confirmed the mum of one will die that week in heartbreaking circumstances.

Viewers were in tears on Wednesday when Sinead tried to make it better for her husband Daniel, knowing she would soon be gone.

She said to him: “I’m so sorry I have to leave you and Bertie. There’s no other pain like it.

“The illness, the treatment, nothing brings me more pain than leaving you two.

“But I know he’s going to be alright, because he’s got you.”

But Weatherfield fans will have to wait to see her illness progress until the seven episodes air from Monday October 21, with an extra one on the Thursday (October 24 2019) at 8.30pm.
