Coronation Street fans think Dr Ali will kill again as new villain

Doctor death could strike again

Coronation Street fans think they know who the new villain is – Dr Ali Neeson.

He has already killed once before in cold blood when he murdered drug dealer Ronan after he threatened his family.

And with the news of a new villain rising on the cobbles, fans think he’s going to embrace his dark side once again and be a killer again.

Corrie producer Iain Macleod revealed the new villain would cause the death of a beloved character.

In scenes to air in March, the factory collapses in what appears to be an accident – but is, in fact, the result of a criminal enterprise by the new villain.

Iain has said: “We’re designing a character who is more of that latter type, who can stay in the show for ever as an antagonist just messing up everyone’s lives. We’re going with this character on this journey.

“You go in seeing their intentions were good but things rapidly snowball. By the end of 2019 there will be a new, complicated villainous presence on the cobbles.”

It has been confirmed the villain already is in the show, which has led fans to believe it is Ali.

One said: “Ali has the be the villain – he’s killed before!”

A second said: “Ali because of the mentions that this new supervillain is ‘having problems of their own’ and someone whose ‘intentions were good but things rapidly snowball’.

“And because both stunts link to Carla Connor – with one happening to her ‘one-true-love’ and the other happening to her actual true love, the factory.”

However another fan thinks Ali would be perfect as the complicated villain.

They wrote on Digital Spy Forums: “Ali showing a dark side would probably be Michelle’s storyline, really. It’d be about her feeling torn over whether or not she should protect her son if he’s evil.

“I’m sure he’d be a good villain but I suspect now that they’ve seen potential in him to be a more layered, troubled character who is ultimately, a good guy at heart, rather than a Corrie villain who is going to become more evil over time.”
