Coronation Street fans praise Lisa George’s ‘unique’ style

She looks a world away from Beth

| Updated:

Actress Lisa George has delighted fans by looking totally different to her Coronation Street character on a night out.

Lisa’s alter ego, Beth Sutherland, is known for her gaudy style and love of the 1980s – known as the decade that fashion forgot!

But Lisa certainly doesn’t go for the same style as recent photos from co-star Katie McGlynn’s leaving do show.

“How stunning you look! Wow!” added another.

A third said: “Oh wow [heart-eyed emoji] Carmen Miranda style, she would be so proud of you, you look stunning Lisa.”

Comments continued: “Absolutely gorgeous,” said one, with someone else agreeing: “Stunning inside and out.”

Lisa was obviously touched by the outpouring of compliments as she later wrote: “Thank you so much everyone for your kind comments.”

Although Beth is known for more comedy storylines, the actress will soon get the chance to show off her acting chops as she deals with the death of her neice Sinead.

It was confirmed on-screen last week that Sinead’s cancer has returned and has spread to her lymph nodes and liver, giving her only three to four months left to live.

Beth was the one who found the lump when she was doing Sinead’s hair for her wedding to Daniel.

A trip to the hospital the following day confirmed the worst.

Sinead is set to start preparing for her death in this week’s Corrie episodes as she visits a hospice.

Husband Daniel insists he will care for her at home when the time comes, but Sinead says they must think of their little boy’s well-being too.

The couple are parents to eight-month-old Bertie and it was because she was pregnant with him that Sinead delayed starting treatment when she was originally diagnosed.

As Sinead blames herself for her impending death, Daniel has reminded her they wouldn’t have Bertie if she hadn’t made that choice.

With the family struggling to come to terms with their bleak future, Sinead will soon make the devastating decision to end her life-prolonging chemotherapy as it’s making her too sick to be spend her final days with her son.

Reports have suggested Daniel will struggle in the wake of her death and even contemplate taking his own life.

And how will Beth cope? Will she be there for him in his hour of need? Or will she be too consumed by her own grief to help him cope with his?
