Coronation Street fans have accused the soap of ‘playing’ with them, after ‘teasing’ them with unaired scenes.
On Wednesday (September 18), viewers were thrilled to hear that baby Bertie was being looked after by his uncle Peter and girlfriend Carla.

However, their excitement soon turned to disappointment when soap bosses made the decision NOT to air the scenes of ‘Carter’ – as Carla and Peter are affectionately known as – with the tot.
In upsetting scenes surrounding Sinead’s cancer diagnosis, Beth Tinker was miffed when she learned that baby Bertie, the son of Sinead and Daniel, was being looked after by Carla and Peter.
But dashing viewers’ hopes, scenes of the trio did not air.

One tweeted: “I love that Peterand Carla are playing uncle and auntie with Bertie, so thank you!!! What would be really nice is if you were to show us these quality scenes. You know, considering we were deprived of them with their baby girl.”
Another asked: “Would it kill Corrie to let us see Carla and Peter with Bertie? It would honestly be one of the best scenes of the entire year. #Corrie.”
A third said: “Peter and Carla have Bertie. Oh my why don’t we get to see these scenes?”

“OMG, I would literally give up my life for Carla, Peter and Bertie content, please just do it Corrie,” begged another.
Luckily for fans, Corrie promised to give them what they want, replying: “All good things come to those who wait.”
Long-term viewers know that Carla married Peter in 2013 and they were expecting a baby together when Tina McIntyre was outed as his mistress.
Sadly, the stress caused Carla to miscarry.
In more devastating scenes, Bertie’s mum Sinead make the heartbreaking decision to stop chemo after her next round if it carries on making her so sick.
She has only three or four months to live after being diagnosed with terminal cancer.
