Coronation Street blunder as Chesney forgets a major storyline

All the stress of expecting quads is causing Chesney to have some serious memory problems

| Updated:

Coronation Street suffered an unfortunate blunder on Friday night when Chesney Brown forgot a pretty big storyline.

The soon to be dad of quads has been stressing over money and space for the arrival of his and Gemma Winter’s four babies later this year.

With the addition of Gemma’s mother Bernie moving in, things have been stretched to say the least.

And it appears that all the stress is causing Chesney to have some serious memory problems.

When Gemma found a super cheap four-bedroom house for the couple to buy and move to with enough room for their expanding brood, Chesney was horrified.

Asking why it was so cheap, he joked: “Was someone murdered in it or something?”

And when Gemma confirmed there was, Chesney reacted with horror, telling her he would never live somewhere where someone has been murdered.

This is the same Chesney who lives at 5 Coronation Street, Weatherfield where someone was definitely murdered – and by a member of Ches’ own family no less.

Back in 2010, Chesney’s brother-in-law John Stape turned into Weatherfield’s most unlikely serial killer ever.

He bludgeoned teacher Charlotte Hoyle with a hammer in the very house Chesney is planning on bringing up his multiple children.

And fans couldn’t resist the chance to remind the soap of what he had forgotten.

One said: “Chesney wouldn’t want to live in a house where there’d been a murder. Didn’t John Stape kill Charlotte in no. 5? #corrie @CoroStreetBlog”

A second added: “”To be fair it’s hard to live on that street and not be in a house where someone’s been murdered.”

A third said: “He lived 2 doors down from a serial killer for God’s sake.”

But the soap’s official Twitter account was ready with a cheeky response to the fans, replying: “Shh don’t remind Chesney!”
