Chris Gascoyne reveals new look ahead of return to Coronation Street

He left the cobbles a few weeks ago!

Chris Gascoyne has revealed his new look ahead of his on-screen return to Coronation Street next week.

The actor who plays Peter Barlow in the ITV soap, has posted his transformation on his Instagram page.

Chris showed a picture of himself with a freshly trimmed beard.

He captioned the picture “The beard is trimmed! Thanks Nick Maclure best barber in Manchester and Dapper Dan beard products.”

Chris is set to be on-screen as Peter next week along with Alison King who plays his  partner Carla Connor.

Carla and Peter left the cobbles a couple of weeks ago after Carla suffered a breakdown and she was found a placement at a specialist unit in Carlisle.

The factory owner has been suffering with psychosis which began after the Underworld Factory roof collapsed.

A couple of weeks before the collapse, Gary told Carla the roof needed work doing to it but she didn’t know it was bad enough to collapse.

During a protest, the roof fell in and Carla’s soon-to-be sister-in-law Rana was killed, dying in the arms of her fiancée, Carla’s sister, Kate.

Carla blamed herself for what happened, but during her breakdown as Gary was about to be killed by Rick Neelan, Gary left a voicemail for his ex-girlfriend Sarah Platt, telling her he was the one who damaged the roof in order to get work.

Gary managed to get away from Rick and when he found Sarah‘s lost mobile phone he erased the message which revealed him to be the factory roof saboteur.

Coronation Street is on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 7.30pm and 8.30pm.
