They sent the internet into a frenzy in December when Brooke Vincent posted a picture in bed with her boyfriend, Kean Bryan, wearing what looked like an engagement ring.
But now the Coronation Street actress has broken her silence on the rumours, saying: “We’re not engaged!”
Speaking to OK! magazine in an interview with her footballer beau, Brooke, 25, added: “Kean took a picture of us on selfie mode so it looked like I had a ring on my left hand, but it was on my right.
“It’s a ring my mum gave me for Christmas, nothing more!”
The pair have been together for two years, after meeting through mutual friends and Brooke – who plays Sophie Webster on the ITV soap – says it’s too soon to discuss marriage.
She says: “It’s not something we’ve really spoken about. We’re both young, so we’re in no rush to get married. If it happens one day, then great, but it’s not something we need to think about right now.”
In fact, far from being engaged, the laid back pair haven’t even moved in together yet.
Brooke explains: “It’s something we might do further down the line, but there are no plans at the minute. We live 15 minutes apart so we stay together most nights anyway.”

The actress, who’s been on Coronation Street since she was just 12, recently won new fans on Dancing On Ice.
She came second in the ice skating competition, along with dance partner Matej Silecky, just losing out to winners Jake Quickenden and Vanessa Bauer.
And it looks like she’s missing her time on the ice rink.
On Monday Brooke posted a picture from the previous week’s show, writing: “About a week agoooooo”.
Her 681k followers praised her, writing: “You were amazing Brooke, you brought a smile to the nation’s face, you’re a little ray of sunshine xx.”
Another added: “You were brilliant in the final!!”
A third said they were missing the show, too, commenting: “I miss it so much 😭, accidentally went to itv at 6 and waited for DOI to come on…. so proud of how you did Brooke, you really deserved 2nd (I wanted 1st for you but oh well) ❤❤.”
It’s clear she enjoyed the experience, recently telling the Daily Star how great the presenters, Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield had been on set.
“Holly and Phil are lovely, they’re so nice to have around,” Brooke said, describing the presenting pair as a “calming energy” amid the chaos.
“Holly’s dressing room is next to mine, and she often sees me running around before the show starts in a panic. She always tells me to calm down before we head on stage.”
Hurry up DOI 2019, already.
