According to the report Fiz and Ty – Jennie McAlpine and Alan Hansall – will be the comedy antidote to grim plots like Pat Phelan’s murderous rampage and Bethany Platt’s sexual abuse.

David Platt’s rape storyline is also set to kick off in the near future.

A source told the paper: “Producers have been listening to the criticism and are beginning to change the fabric of the show.

“Their plans for Fiz and Tyrone should keep fans happy, at least for a bit.”

First of all though Fiz and Tyrone will have to patch up their relationship after Ty cheats with Gemma Winter in upcoming episodes.

Fiz will be seen fleeing to her brother Chesney’s when she discovers Tyrone has lied to her about his daughter Ruby’s behaviour improving while she’s been away.

Believing the little girl is a danger to her own daughter, Hope, Fiz takes her to stay with Ches.

Tyrone then finds himself drawn to Gemma as she helps him out when the girls lock themselves in the factory.
