Coronation Street’s Barlows face Amy’s teen pregnancy drama

It won't be much of a 2019 for iconic Corrie family

| Updated:

It has been an awful year for the Barlows on Coronation Street, even by the standards of Soapland.

Less than three months ago Peter Barlow appeared to have been gunned down by gang members who had been harassing son Simon.

That shocking development came shortly after Peter and Toyah endured a devastating split as he discovered he was not the father of ‘their’ baby Susie.

Since then the Barlows have been rocked by pregnant Sinead’s heartbreaking cancer diagnosis and Tracy’s marriage to Steve almost falling apart after she rumbled his cheating.

But it looks as if things are only going to get worse before they get better for the extended Barlow family following a newspaper report claiming 14-year-old Amy will be at the centre of an underage pregnancy storyline.

The Corrie teen will face the crushing dilemma of whether to have an abortion or keep the baby after dad Steve discovers a pregnant kit belonging to Amy.

According to The Sun, a terrified Amy – played by Elle Mulvaney – will turn to grandmother Liz McDonald for support before her parents find out they could soon become grandparents themselves.

The website also claims Amy’s mum and dad will for be united in their fury, with Tracey saying she wants to ‘kill’ the baby’s unidentified father.

However, while Amy apparently initially chooses to end her pregnancy, her new year bombshell will likely continue to be a concern for Tracey and Steve.

A soap insider is quoted as saying: “They demand an abortion and Amy agrees but changes her mind at the 11th hour.”

With the lives of both Peter and Simon also believed to be in danger in an upcoming 2019 boat blaze, it won’t be much of a happy new year for one of Weatherfield’s most iconic families.
