Coronation Street viewers in hysterics as David Platt sports a tan from prison

Coronation Street viewers were left in hysterics as David Platt sported his tan in last night's episode, despite being in prison for weeks.

Earlier this year, David's brother Nick stole £80,000 of her grandmother Audrey's inheritance money from Archie Shuttleworth to fund his purchase of the factory and pay for his divorce.

But when David discovered what his brother had done, he blackmailed him into buying the barber shop.

Nick came clean in court about what he had done but managed to escape prison having no previous.

However, as David was serving a suspended sentence for attacking Gary Windass last year, the judge had no choice but to send him to prison.

In last night's episode (August 26 2019) Shona took David's daughter Lily to visit him for her birthday.

However, when they arrived at the prison, David looked like he had been on holiday as he had a tan.

Over the last couple of weeks, viewers have seen David's fiancée Shona struggling to cope with his son Max.

After trying to hit him in the Victoria garden, he went after his uncle again at his sister Lily's birthday party.

Shona broke down to Sarah and Leanne, revealing Max had been acting up for weeks, and that Max wasn't taking his ADHD medication.

Shona soon told David about how Max was behaving and he revealed it was Max's late mum Kylie's birthday the previous week.
