Shockwaves will be sent round Coronation Street next week when Nick Tilsley is arrested in connection to the factory roof collapse. But is he guilty?
As the police investigation into the Underworld roof collapse that tragically claimed the life of Rana Habeeb on her wedding day continues, it seems they have found themselves a suspect next week.
As Coronation Street fans will know, drama hit Weatherfield when health and safety inspector Wayne’s report into the tragedy went missing from his car recently.
But as the mystery over who took the report to cover up something sinister deepens, it seems Nick Tilsley could be guilty when the report is found hidden under his bed mattress.
Toyah is shocked when she is stripping beds at home next week and finds the incriminating report under Nick and Leanne’s mattress.
But when she tells her sister she is going to the police about her findings, Leanne begs Toyah to let her speak to Nick first.
Nick is adamant that he has nothing to do with the report being in his bedroom and that someone must have planted it there… but is he telling the truth?
As Leanne questions his innocence, the police also seem to think that Nick is guilty because they’re soon on the Street to arrest him.
Everyone is stunned as Nick is carted off to the station for questioning. Have the police finally worked out who is responsible for Rana’s untimely death?
As he is quizzed by the police they’re convinced that he is in cahoots with Carla and that the roof sabotage was all part of an elaborate insurance scam. But are they right?
Nick is sure he has been framed, but as he returns to the cobbles after his time at the station, it seems even girlfriend Leanne is starting to question whether he could be the one with blood on his hands.
Leanne’s suspicions seem to be confirmed when she finds out from Shona that she overheard Nick telling David that he has done things that he’s not proud of.
While Leanne is angry with Shona for pointing the finger of suspicion at Nick, she can’t help but wonder what Nick was talking about to David and questions her future with Nick if she can’t trust him.
Have the police just found their suspect?
And could Nick and Leanne’s romance be over?
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
