Sinead Tinker’s cancer secret is revealed next week when Ken Barlow tells Claudia Colby that his daughter-in-law is ill.
Ken is unable to deal with the enormity of the secret Sinead has asked him to keep from his son Daniel.
He begs Sinead to reconsider telling her new husband the truth about her diagnosis, but Sinead is adamant that Daniel is kept in the dark.
When Daniel walks into the cafe to discover Sinead in floods of tears he confronts his dad and asks what Ken has done to upset her.
Meanwhile Ken tells Claudia about Sinead’s diagnosis and also that she’s asked him to keep it a secret from Daniel.
Claudia is devastated for him but she later speaks to Sinead and tells her that Ken has told her the situation and she will support her no matter what she chooses.
Elsewhere Ken is left feeling wretched after Sinead has a funny turn and Daniel tells him that he’s worried about her.
Will Ken tell Daniel what’s really going on with Sinead?
Actress Katie McGlynn who plays terrified Sinead has revealed that her character will do whatever it takes to keep her baby safe in the ITV soap.
She said: “All the way through it she’s constantly thinking about the baby, even though she’s only around three months pregnant when she finds out that she might have cancer she’s still thinking about the baby.
“When they say to her you’ve got a lump, she says ‘is the baby OK?’. She’s got a maternal instinct straight away, she’s not thinking about herself.”
And Sinead is going to keep her cancer worries away from fiancee Daniel Osbourne.
Katie added: “I think it’s because her worst fear is for Daniel to find out.

“If she tells anyone there’s a chance that Daniel will find out and because she doesn’t know the full news herself yet she’s just keeping everything to herself because she can’t risk anyone finding out for his sake.
“She knows it’s going to break his heart…”
