Kate Connor has announced her intentions to leave Weatherfield in what must surely be the lead up to her permanent departure, after actress Faye Brookes’ decision to exit the ITV soap.
And some Coronation Street fans have expressed a desire to see her go sooner rather than later, after getting fed up with the character’s “brattish” behaviour.

On Wednesday (July 31), Kate bumped into old frenemie and ex-girlfriend Imogen Pascoe at the Bistro and the pair hatched a plan to go travelling together.
Never mind the fact they hated each other not so long ago, and that Rana probably wouldn’t approve!
After becoming set on the idea, Kate was seen talking to Carla about her dreams to visit Japan, a place her late girlfriend Rana had always dreamt of visiting.

She said: “Rana had this thing with Japan. Kyoto especially. She wanted to see the geishas, visit the tea houses.
“But Jenny’s right. These trips cost loads, more than you think.”
With nowt in her bank account, Kate was seen buttering up her dad Johnny for the cash – a shocking three grand!

Fans slammed the character for being a “spoilt brat”, even when she had a change of heart – thanks mainly to Jenny’s death stare – and decided to work more shifts at the Bistro instead to pay her own way.
One said: “Sorry, but I’m 100 per cent team Jenny. Kate’s acting like a spoilt little brat again. Grow up Kate. Go on Jenny put her in her place.”
Another added: “Kate playing the Rana sympathy card to get money… She’s back to her selfish self-centred brattish self, folks!”
A third said: “Is Kate actually aware that she’s a woman in her 30s and not a child? Team Jenny when she finds out.”

Others told her to “do one”, called her “irritating” and said they wouldn’t miss her when she goes.
In fact, actress Faye filmed her final scenes earlier this month, with the soap teasing her exit on their official Instagram account.
She explained back in April: “After four fabulous years in Weatherfield, it’s time for me to explore new opportunities.
“I’ve loved playing Kate Connor, but she needs a break for a little while, and so with a song in my heart I’m off to pastures new.”
She has since announced her first venture after leaving the soap, appearing in panto as Snow White.
