Coronation Street, Emmerdale and EastEnders schedules change again

Football moves the soaps around

Soap fans should prepare themselves for a little disturbance in the coming weeks, as their favourite shows will be affected by the football calendar AGAIN.

All three of the most popular serial dramas – Emmerdale, Coronation Street and EastEnders – will be forced to change times due to the upcoming European Championship qualifiers.

But we will get to see the soaps – just at slightly different times!

Here’s when they’ll be on the week beginning Monday September 9.

The worst possible news for Sinead and Daniel (Credit: ITV)

We usually visit the cobbles every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.

While Monday and Tuesday’s episodes remain in the same slots, this Friday, September 13, we will be heading to Weatherfield for an hour from 7.30pm.

And it’s set to be a very sad week as Sinead Tinker and Daniel Osbourne discover her cancer has returned and has spread to her lymph nodes and liver.

On Monday night they get married, but by Wednesday their happiness has turned to despair as Sinead is told she only has months to live.

As she struggles to come to terms with what’s happening to her, by Friday’s hour-long special all the drama turns to Dr Ali who has a prescription drug addiction.

Ryan is shocked when Ali collapses and has a seizure, but can Ryan and Robert help Ali beat the addiction?

Emmerdale

We’re only going to visit the Dales five times this week instead of the usual six or seven.

The soap will NOT AIR at all on Tuesday September 10 as England take on Kosovo in the Euro 2020 qualifier from Southampton, hosted by Mark Pougatch.

This week sees the much-talked about return of Mandy Dingle, who walks straight into trouble when she catches cousin Marlon’s wife Jessie in a compromising position.

Jessie’s locking lips with someone who isn’t her husband, in fact, it’s her ex-husband, Al, and she’s also plotting a new life in Dubai. Will she leave Marlon broken hearted?

Elsewhere, Tracy is convinced she has the right woman when she traps Dawn in the church and accuses her of starting the fire.

Can she ever get justice for poor Frank? And can Vanessa help her sister grieve for their dead dad?

Although none of the usual visits to Walford need to be moved for football, EastEnders has decided to change their regular slots to avoid clashes with the ITV soaps.

On Friday, September 13, Easties fans can catch the usual 8pm episode at the later time of 8.30pm so it avoids going up against extended Corrie – and viewers of both shows don’t have to choose.

Win, win, right?!

With the dust settling following Hunter’s devastating attack on Walford, Mel is struggling to grieve, while Ben fights for his life.

By Friday, attention has turned to Chantelle and Gray. She has made a shocking discovery and when her husband goes to attack her again, will her secret change everything?

Meanwhile, Bobby makes a big decision about his future.
