Tyrone Dobbs is staying on Coronation Street for at least another year.
Actor Alan Halsall has revealed he has signed another one year contract to take him into his 20th year on the ITV soap.
He told the Daily Star: “To reach the 20-year milestone makes me feel old but I’m also really humbled by it.
“I’m born and raised in Salford where Coronation Street is set, so it’s always been a big thrill for me and my family when I sign a new contract.”
He also revealed how he still gets nervous when the contract renewal comes around each year.
Alan even admitted how he expects to be axed each time.
He said: “Not knowing what will happen is part and parcel of my job. It’s always expected that my character could be written out.”
And if he were to be axed, he would be completely devastated.
He added: “I would be devastated but that possibility is part of what I do.”
Viewers have watched recently as Alan’s character Tyrone discovered his mother wasn’t actually his birth mother.
Criminal Jackie Dobbs raised Tyrone but after her death, Tyrone discovered he had been secretly adopted.

In an attempt to track down his birth mother, he found his grandmother, Evelyn Plummer, who is played by legendary actress Maureen Lipman.
Despite the pair clashing immediately after meeting, Tyrone made quite the impression on Evelyn and she has moved onto the cobbles after being forced to leave her old house.
Within days she had faked a heart attack after being caught shoplifting in Dev’s corner shop, clashed with just about everyone and lost her dog.
And it seems her adventures are just beginning on the street.
