Alan, who joined Corrie in 1998, posted a picture of himself on Instagram.
The picture is captioned ".......it's a jungle out there."
Friends and fans rushed to comment on the post.
Former Corrie star Ryan Thomas wrote: "Can't wait to see you in the jungle, congratulations mate."
One fan asked: "You going on I'm A Celebrity?"
Another commented: "I'm A Celebrity???"

Many Corrie stars have taken part in the ITV reality show including Helen Flanagan, who plays Rosie Webster, Jennie McAlpine, who plays Tyrone's girlfriend Fiz Stape, Nigel Havers, who played Lewis Archer and Antony Cotton, who plays Sean Tully.
The latest Coronation Street star to go into the jungle was Sair Khan, who plays Alya Nazir.
Sair competed in series 18 which aired last year (2018).
The actress finished 9th in the series overall.
A whole host of celebs is rumoured to be joining this year's series. Last year's Strictly Come Dancing winner, Stacey Dooley, is one of them.
TV presenter Jenny Powell, TOWIE's Gemma Collins, who exited on day three of the 14th series, Strictly professional Katya Jones, EastEnders star Danny Dyer and his daughter Dani, Good Morning Britain's Kate Garraway, Frankie Bridge and Love Island's Georgia Steel are among those rumoured to be joining the series.
Corrie's Kym Marsh and Lucy Fallon have also been linked.
The Chase's Mark Labbett has also claimed that he has been approached by both Strictly and I'm A Celeb.
