The Queen is reportedly ‘determined to carry on working’ as normal after being struck with COVID.

The 95-year-old monarch is currently isolating after testing positive and “experiencing mild cold-like symptoms”.

But, according to sources, the Queen isn’t planning on slowing down.

The Queen to ‘carry on working’ during COVID

It’s claimed that the Queen has only cancelled one face-to-face meeting in the upcoming days.

However, she will continue with other online meetings this week.

A royal source told the Daily Mail: “There are procedures in place but there’s been a wave at Windsor with a number of cases among household staff.

The Queen plans to carry out light duties

“The Queen has mild cold-like symptoms and plans to carry out light duties. She is determined to carry on.”

Meanwhile, it comes days after Buckingham Palace released a statement confirming the news.

In the statement, the Palace revealed that she will carry out “light duties over the coming week”.

The statement said: “Buckingham Palace confirm that The Queen has today tested positive for COVID.

“Her Majesty is experiencing mild cold-like symptoms but expects to continue light duties at Windsor over the coming week.

“She will continue to receive medical attention and will follow all the appropriate guidelines.”

Since then, thousands of royal fans have shared their concerns for the elderly monarch.

On Twitter, one said: “Bless our precious Queen, Lord keep her safe. We love and need her.”

Prince Charles and Camilla also battled COVID

The Queen’s positive test followed shortly after her son Prince Charles was also struck with COVID.

The Prince of Wales tested just two days after he had seen his elderly mother.

Meanwhile, his wife Camilla went on to receive a positive test shortly after her husband.

A Clarence House spokesman said last week: “Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cornwall has tested positive for COVID-19 and is self-isolating.

“We continue to follow government guidelines.”
