Prince Harry and Meghan Markle ‘quit the Royal Family after being snubbed by the Queen in Christmas address’

Royal Christmas Snub

A new book claims that Prince Harry and wife Meghan Markle decided on ‘Megxit’ after the Queen allegedly removed their photo.  The snap featured the couple and their young son Archie.

When did Harry and Meghan allegedly get upset?

In Brothers and Wives: Inside The Private Lives of William, Kate, Harry and Meghan by Christopher Andersen, it alleges that the Queen asked for the Sussexes’ image to be moved for her Christmas Day speech in 2019.

The book alleges that the 95-year-old Monarch told the director that all photos were fine. Except the one of the Sussexes.

It suggests that she pointed at the framed image and said: “That one, I suppose we don’t need that one.”

An array of framed family photos often surrounds the Queen during her annual festive speech.

This particular snap featured Harry and Meghan holding their then-seven-month-old son Archie. It was initially on her desk alongside other family images.

They included photos of The Cambridges, Prince Charles and Camilla, the Queen’s father George VI and her late husband the Duke of Edinburgh.

But Harry and Meghan’s were nowhere to be seen during the television broadcast, which the book alleges upset the couple.

Why did the Queen allegedly remove a photo of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle?

It is claimed that the Queen ‘snubbed’ Harry and Meghan because they had chosen to break the Royal tradition by not attending the Royal Family’s celebration at Sandringham.

A statement read: “Having spent the past two Christmases at Sandringham, Their Royal Highnesses will spend the holiday this year as a new family, with Duchess’ mother Doria Ragland.

“And has the support of Her Majesty The Queen.”

But, just 12 months later, the couple were announcing Megxit and quit the Royal Family to start a new life in the USA.

And it is reported this year Meghan and Harry have ‘snubbed’ the Queen’s Christmas invitation and won’t be visiting her over the festive season.

A palace spokeswoman told the New York Post: “We don’t comment on books of this kind as to do so risks giving it some form of authority or credibility.”
