Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly hope they can boost their reputation through their Netflix content.
The former senior royals, 36 and 39, have signed a deal with Netflix said to be worth at least £100 million.
And Harry and Meghan allegedly plan to use this massive opportunity to boost their global appeal.
An insider source told US Weekly that they see this “as a way of rebuilding their reputation”.
Harry and Meghan Markle will make millions with Netflix
Then added: “It was too tempting to resist.”
The couple came under fire when they stepped down from their senior royal roles.
But they seemingly want to turn this around with their Netflix deal.
Harry’s determined to make it in Hollywood, just as much as Meghan.
Their deal will allow them to produce movies, scripted series, documentaries and children’s programming.
They have reportedly already produced a cartoon series about female empowerment.
Meghan Markle’s reputation could soar
Prince Harry was supposedly even taking online movie production classes while stuck in lockdown.
A source previously told the American publication: “Harry’s determined to make it in Hollywood, just as much as Meghan.”
Other outlets have said he aspires to be like fellow red-headed producer and director Ron Howard.
The couple said they wish to produce “inspirational” content for the streaming giant.
They said in a joint statement: “Through our work with diverse communities and their environments, to shining a light on people and causes around the world, our focus will be on creating content that informs but also gives hope.
“As new parents, making inspirational family programming is also important to us, as is powerful storytelling through a truthful and relatable lens.
“We are pleased to work with Ted and the team at Netflix whose unprecedented reach will help us share impactful content that unlocks action.”
Netflix co-founder and co-CEO Reed Hastings says he is incredibly excited about their deal.
He even thinks their content will be the most streamed Netflix content of 2021.
He told CNBC: “We’re going to do a wide range of entertainment with them.
“I can’t tell you any more than that about it at this point, but I think it will be some of the most exciting, most viewed content next year.”
Netflix has yet to confirm when the couple’s first production efforts will stream.
