Prince George and Princess Charlotte allowed to break school rule as they return to class

William said it had been a ‘long five months’ with the kids at home

Prince George and Princess Charlotte have returned to school and the royal siblings have been allowed to break a key school rule.

George and Charlotte are now back at Thomas’s Preparatory School in Battersea, south London, after lockdown eased.

And, it appears, some exceptions have been made to ensure the future king and his little sister remain safe.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been allowed to drive into the school gates as usual to drop off their children.

However, other parents of children at the school have to drop their little ones off outside the gates.

Royal correspondent Katie Nicholl told Vanity Fair about the school rule break.

She said: “According to one parent, the school has installed numerous COVID-prevention measures and parents now have to drop children at the school gates. The Cambridges, however, are still able to drive their children into the school grounds.”

William and Kate had been homeschooling their eldest children when schools shut during lockdown.

The prince quipped: “Five months – it’s been wonderful, but it’s been a long five months.”

As well as George, seven, and Charlotte, five, William and Kate are also parents to two-year-old Prince Louis.
