Duchess of Sussex, Meghan has paid a touching tribute to fashion photographer Peter Lindbergh, who has died aged 74.
The iconic photographer had most recently worked with the Duchess of Sussex on the September issue of Vogue magazine, shooting each of the 15 cover images.
He also photographed the royal for Vanity Fair in October 2017 when she starred in TV drama Suits.
Peter, who is also well known for his black and white photographs of Cindy Crawford and Naomi Campbell, passed away on Tuesday, a post on his official Instagram page said.
Following the announcement of the sad news, the Sussex Royal Instagram account posted a picture of Peter and Meghan sharing a warm embrace.
The accompanying caption read: “Honouring the life and work of photographer Peter Lindbergh. His work is revered globally for capturing the essence of a subject and promoting healthy ideals of beauty, eschewing photoshopping, and preferring natural beauty with minimal makeup.”

It continued: “The Duchess of Sussex had worked with Peter in the past and personally chose him to shoot the 15 women on the cover for the September issue of British Vogue, which she guest edited. There is no other photographer she considered to bring this meaningful project to life.
“Forces for Change was one of the esteemed photographer’s final published projects. He will be deeply missed.”

Vogue Editor Edward Enniful also paid tribute, saying: “His ability to see real beauty in people, and the world, was ceaseless, and will live on through the images he created. He will be missed by everyone who knew him, worked with him or loved his pictures.”
“He leaves a big void,” the post on the photographer’s Instagram page said. He is survived by his wife Petra, his first wife Astrid, his four sons Benjamin, Jérémy, Simon, Joseph and seven grandchildren.

The Duchess of Sussex guest edited the famous September issue of the fashion bible, which featured 15 inspiring women on the cover, including New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Adern, Jane Fonda and Laverne Cox.
The Vogue editor later explained why Meghan herself wasn’t on the cover, sharing: “From the very beginning, we talked about the cover – whether she would be on it or not.
“In the end, she felt that it would be in some ways a ‘boastful’ thing to do for this particular project. She wanted, instead, to focus on the women she admires.”
