Clarence House recently called the claims "fiction"

Where has the Prince Charles race row come from?

Back in March, Meghan claimed to Oprah that there had been “conversations” within the Royal Family about how dark Archie’s skin would be.

The allegation made shockwaves as people speculated who the conversations had been with. A new book, titled Brothers and Wives: Inside The Private Lives of William, Kate, Harry and Meghan, has dropped a bombshell, claiming it was Prince Charles who speculated on Archie’s skin colour.

According to the author, Prince Charles had speculated asking Camilla: “What do you think their [Harry and Meghan’s] children’s complexion might be?”

Prince Charles has denied the claims, with a Clarence House spokesperson calling the allegations “fiction“.

And now Thomas Markle, 77, has defended Prince Charles in an exclusive response given to Dan Wootton Tonight, which airs on GB News.

What did Meghan’s father, Thomas Markle, say on GB News?

“This new book inferring that Charles was racist is nonsense!” Thomas said. “He just asked an innocent question when he asked what colour the baby would be!”

“That’s just curiosity that most people have and it can never be answered until the birth,” he added.

He then went on to give an example of similar questions being asked of him when Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, was pregnant with Meghan.

“When I married Doria and she was pregnant with Meghan, some of our friends asked the same question,” he explained. “They were not racists they were just curious.”

“It was nothing more than an innocent question,” he added. “The same with Prince Charles.”

Rebecca Reid, Dawn Neesom, and Calvin Robinson joined Dan on the show to discuss Thomas Marke’s response.

“Lots to unpack here. I guess the first question is, was it wrong if Prince Charles actually made a statement anyway? Dan asked Rebecca. “Thomas Markle says absolutely not.”

Ms Reid said that “we have no reason” to think that Prince Charles even asked such a question.

“It’s completely random guessing and the thing that frustrates me is that there are so many good, sensible conversations to be had about racism in this country,” she said.

“What Harry and Meghan did was basically go, somebody was racist, guess who,” she added. “Now we’re spending all this time playing who’s the racist.”

Calvin Robinson also defended Prince Charles on the Dan Wootton show.

“You cannot let people go around calling you racist without substantiating it,” he said.

Dan Wootton then said that he felt sorry for Prince Charles in the wake of the ‘racism” allegations.

“You have to feel a little bit sorry for Prince Charles, it has been a full-on week for him,” the host said.

Meanwhile, a spokesperson for Clarence House recently said of the allegations: “This is fiction and not worth further comment.”

Dan Wootton Tonight airs Monday-Thursday at 9 pm on GB News.
