Duchess of Cambridge has set standards "very high"

One recently flew to Scotland via a budget airline, while the other took four private jets in the space of two weeks.

Now it’s been claimed that Meghan Markle reportedly feels “discouraged” by the constant comparisons between herself and her sister-in-law Kate Middleton.

Kate – now a pro when it comes to royal etiquette and engagements – married into the royal family back in April 2011, when she tied the knot with heir to the throne Prince William.

They have three children – Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

American Meghan – who quit acting to join the royal family – is a relative newcomer to the pomp and ceremony of royal life.

She married Prince Harry in May 2018, with the pair welcoming baby Archie in May this year.

Now a source has told US Weekly that Meghan “feels there is a standard set very high” by Kate.

They added: “It’s discouraging that the British public holds her up to that.”

The source also revealed that former Suits star Meghan feels her “hands are tied” when it comes to defending herself.

“Meghan has this sense of isolation being in the UK. Her hands are tied and she isn’t allowed to defend herself. It has been very difficult,” the source claimed.

However, Sarah, Duchess of York recently revealed that, although much was made of a rift between herself and Diana, Princess of Wales, behind closed doors they were the best of friends.

They too also married royal brothers – Princes Andrew and Charles.

Speaking to Hello!, Sarah revealed: “Women, in particular, are constantly pitted against and compared with each other in a way that reminds me of how people tried to portray Diana and me all the time as rivals, which is something neither of us ever really felt.”

Indeed, although their Royal Foundation has now split, Kate and Meghan looked to be having fun when they attended Wimbledon together earlier in the summer.
