The Duchess of Sussex’s make-up artist has revealed Prince Harry thanked him on the royal wedding day for making Meghan look like herself.

Make-up guru Daniel Martin told InStyle that The Duke of Sussex, 33, couldn’t stop saying thank you after seeing how Meghan, 37, looked when she walked down the aisle.

He said: “I know exactly what she does and doesn’t like. After the ceremony Harry kept saying thank you. He was thanking me for making her look like herself.”

Daniel added the key was keeping things simple and elegant and not straying too far from your everyday look.

Daniel pointed out: “At the end of the day, you want to look like your best self.”

That’s similar to what he told Glamour magazine after the wedding, when he claimed: “On your wedding day you want to look back at your photos and think about how great you felt in your dress and not be distracted by how trendy your makeup was in 2018.

“I focused on bringing out her best self and elevating it to a level that you’re not necessarily able to achieve yourself.”

Daniel previously revealed how former Suits actress Meghan hired him as her wedding day make-up artist by sending two simple emojis via text.

He told Elle magazine: “She sent me a text asking what I was doing the weekend of May 19th. I was like, ‘I may be in Cannes for the film festival but what’s up…’ and she sent me the bride and groom emoji right back and I literally dropped my phone!

“Then she sent me the ‘shhhh’ emoji back so I couldn’t let anyone know…”

Meanwhile, Daniel was among those sending birthday wishes to The Duchess of Sussex over the weekend.

Meghan marked her 37th birthday on August 4.

Daniel shared a video to Instagram showing the former actress eating raspberries from the tips of her fingers, alongside the caption: “Happiest of birthdays my friend!!”

Kensington Palace said this week: “Thank you everyone for your lovely messages on The Duchess of Sussex’s birthday! #HappyBirthdayHRH.”
