Kate Middleton and Prince William have left fans divided as they visited a bakery for their latest royal engagement.
During their visit, the couple helped knead dough into shape to make bagels.
Kate and William got into the competitive spirit as they were judged on their technique.
As well as using hand sanitiser, the couple also wore aprons and face masks.
Elias Cohen, whose father Amnon founded the bakery in 1974, told William about his technique: “Not bad. I think Kate wins.”
The Duke replied: “We’ll go with that. The usual story.”
Kate added: “Just wait until you see the aftermath! I had beginner’s luck. They are getting worse!”
A video was shared to the Kensington Royal Instagram page showing Kate and William helping to make bagels.
The post read: “A visit to one of London’s most iconic bagel shops to see behind the scenes!
“@beigel_bake was forced to reduce their opening hours during the pandemic but is back to 24hrs and continuing to support their local community.”
In the footage, Kate and William help prep the dough before they’re made into a bagel shape.
However, some fans noticed the pair weren’t wearing hair nets or gloves during the video.
What did fans say?
One person commented: “Where are the gloves when you handle food?”
Another wrote: “Does no one wear hair nets and hats and no jewellery with stones in this bakery?”
Where is the glove when you handle food?
A third said: “Why were gloves or hair nets not worn?”
Meanwhile, others defended the couple with one person insisting: “It’s a bagel store… bagels get boiled then baked.
“I don’t think you need to worry about gloves.”
Another added: “You don’t wear gloves when you’re shaping dough. The dough would stick to them.
“And any germs will get killed when the item is baked.”
Others just gushed over the royal couple as one said: “Love you two! You make the UK proud! Very lucky to have you both!”
Another wrote: “A Duke and Duchess to be proud of.”
