Everything you need to know about Pippa Middleton’s wedding today

It's the biggest event of the year!

| Updated:

We were all in awe after watching Kate Middleton marry Prince William, but now it’s her sister Pippa’s turn to show off that pert bottom some more.

The 33-year-old is set to tie the knot to her hedge fund manager beau James Matthews today.

According to reports, the bride-to-be has had a huge glass structure erected at her parents’ house, costing around £100,000, for the plush reception.

There is also a large deck surrounding it so people can catch a breath of fresh air if the dancing is too much!

Technicians have been spotted fitting large light fittings to the ceilings, which will no doubt look stunning at night.

Two marquees have been fitted next to it which are suspected to be where the caterers will prepare the food and drink.

According to the Daily Mail, her father Michael can’t wait for his daughter’s special day. “He is hugely excited by everything, particularly giving his youngest daughter away,” their source said.

The wedding ceremony will take place at her local church, St Mark’s in Englefield, Berkshire.

Her older sis had around 1,900 guests at the church, but Pippa is rumoured to have around 150.

After they say ‘I do’, the newlyweds will head over to Pippa’s parents, and will have around 350 guests all-in-all.

It seems that her mum Carole is also thoroughly enjoying being part of her daughter’s special day.

A source told The Sun: “Her mum has been very involved in all the wedding planning and she wants to show off their house to all their friends.”

Prince George and Princess Charlotte are expected to be page boy and flower girl too. Awwww!

Of course, their parents Kate and William will be attending.

Prince Harry will also be in attendance with his actress girlfriend Meghan Markle – rather, it is assumed she will be there.

But there were also reports that Pippa had instituted a “no ring, no bring” rule when it comes to partners.

James’s famous brother Spencer Matthews, who is mostly known for being a love-rat in Made in Chelsea and most recently won The Jump, will be best man.

However, his current squeeze Vogue Williams isn’t coming.

Pippa is said be either dressed in Giles Deacon, Emilia Wickstead or Erdem.

The Mirror reports that Pippa’s dress cost £10,000, and £17,000 has been put down just on drinks!

Luckily, both of their families have lots in common, as they both came from rather modest backgrounds.

Pippa’s grandfather Ron Goldsmith was a lorry driver from Southall.

His daughter Carole’s party planning website is now worth a whopping £30m.

James’s dad, David, was a mechanic in his early days and later moved into selling second-hand cars and then got involved in the property market.

Pippa herself started off in public relations by promoting luxury products, and then became an author in her own right.

She started a food column, later becoming a contributing editor of Vanity Fair. In May 2013, she became the sole director and shareholder of PXM Enterprises Limited.

Luckily though, her hubby-to-be is worth £2.3 billion after co-founding his capital management group, so she is going to be just fine on the money front, if she decides to take a career break…
