Love Island SPOILER: Dani declares she “can’t be with a liar” following row with Jack

She's still upset over that lie detector test

Dani Dyer and Jack Fincham’s relationship was thrown into turmoil following the lie detector test on Monday’s show.

In tonight’s installment, viewers will see the once happy couple continue to row and question whether they want to stay together.

After Dani stormed off from Jack in rage last night, the pair – who have so far been the favourites to win – vent their fury over their disagreement to their friends.

Seeking counsel from original Laura and Alexandra, Dani admits the lie detector test has fuelled her insecurity over whether the stationary salesman will be faithful to her in the outside world.

When she asked him during the test if he could be “tempted” by other women, he said “no”, but the test revealed he was lying.

An upset Dani, 21, tells her friends: “Obviously with Jack, ever since I’ve been in here, you know, it hasn’t been easy the stuff I’ve always heard from the outside.

“His past, the girl that he was with was in here, she explained how he was to her and it was awful for me, it was not the Jack I knew.

“I completely get that I probably have changed Jack… everyone wants to be that girl. I want to be that girl when I get out of here, and have all that. I don’t want my boyfriend’s head to be turned. Does any girl?”

Expressing her fears for their future together, she bluntly informs the girls: “I can’t be with a liar.”

Meanwhile, Jack, 26, tells Alex that he’s “upset and angry” that Dani doesn’t trust him.

He says: “Do you know what mate, I’m just really upset and angry at how that went and I’ll tell you for why. She’s upset like ‘could you be tempted by other girls outside of here?’ All I can do is say to her is, ‘Dan, you’ve got nothing to worry about, let me show you.’ Which is what I kept saying. But she wasn’t having any of it.

“Do you know the thing that’s upset me the most right? She’s upset and having a go at me for something that hasn’t even happened yet.”

When the couple then head for bed that evening, their usual goodnight hugs and kisses are replaced with another war of words – with Dani hinting she wants to end their relationship.

“You’re doing the worst thing you could possibly do by saying ‘don’t be with me then’,” Jack tells her.

She replies: “Obviously because you’re upsetting me, you keep making me feel like it’s my fault.”

Jack carries on: “You went about it wrong, I’m sorry, and then you stormed off, I’ve never stormed off from you.”

Dani then declares: “Maybe you deserve better then.”

A hurt Jack hits back: “That is the most dramatic thing I’ve ever heard.”

“Go away,” Dani replies ending the disagreement to sleep.

The following morning, Dani reflects on the terrace with the other girls about the argument.

“It was just really horrible last night with Jack. We didn’t (cuddle) at all. It’s weird. We always cuddle and kiss. I don’t want to row with him. I just want to sort it out with him today,” she admits.

Acknowledging her own faults in the fall out in the Beach Hut, Dani says she is ready to speak to Jack and work through their latest obstacle.

She says: “I just want him to understand why I was upset, just have a little bit of understanding towards me. I am a bit stubborn sometimes and I don’t like being in the wrong. I hate saying ‘sorry’, it’s such a struggle for me.

“I do want to have a chat with him and see where we can move forward with it because it’ll just get a bit petty otherwise.”

When the couple finally come face to face, Jack says: “I understand why you were upset about being tempted outside. I understand why you were a bit upset about that. But I haven’t actually done anything.”

Dani responds: “I know you haven’t, I never said you had done anything though. It just upset me the whole situation why that one come up, I couldn’t understand why. Why you’d be unfaithful on the outside?

“Because me and you have been so good in here that when that question came up of course I’m going to think ‘what?’ Of all the questions, I don’t care about any of the other ones. That one is so important to me.”

Jack tries to reassure her that he loves her and wants them to have a future but will Dani be convinced? Or could this be the end of Love Island’s favourite couple?

Love Island continues at 9pm on ITV2.
