One of the last remaining couple’s from last year’s Love Island – Gabby Allen and Marcel Somerville – have split.

After rumours began circulating that the pair had parted ways after their recent romantic break in Mexico, Gabby confirmed the news on her Instagram account.

She wrote, “Thank you to everyone for your kind messages, love, and support. It’s been a couple of days. I think I still might be in a bit of shock!

“But I’m sure in time I’ll be OK. I have the best family and friend’s around me. I’m a lucky girl.”

Personal trainer Gabby has also removed all of her pictures with Marcel on social media and has unfollowed him.

The couple’s romance was recently hit with allegations Marcel had been unfaithful.

In a statement to OK! magazine, Marcel’s rep said: “Gabby was a special part of Marcel’s life, and he hopes one day she can find it in herself to forgive him.

“He knows what he did was wrong and is extremely sad about how he has hurt Gabby.”

It was reported last week that the couple had split, yet at the time they denied the rumours and continued to attend celebrity events together.

Back in November, former Blazin’ Squad member Marcel, 32, made headlines after allegations emerged that he had been seen getting cosy with a girl on a night out in London with Love Island co-star Johnny Mitchell.

At the time, Gabby said she was ‘baffled’ by the reports, adding to Mail Online: “We trust each other. I trust him and I hope he trusts me too. We’ve never had any problems in that respect, I’ve never not trusted him any way.”

The pair met on the last series of Love Island, and despite viewers having their doubts, quickly fell for each other and were one the last of the couples to stay together.

While winners Kem Centinay and Amber Davies split last year, and Chris Hughes and Olivia Attwood split in March, the only remaining couples are Dom Lever and Jess Shears, and Jamie Jewitt and Camilla Thurlow.

Most memorably, after she had failed the lie detector test over whether she was in love with Marcel and found him attractive, Gabby concocted an elaborate plan which resulted in her fellow contestants spelling out the words ‘I love you’, to show her commitment to Marcel.

Returning the sentiment, Marcel (or ‘Doctor Marcel’ as he was nicknamed for his relationship advice) asked Gabby to be his girlfriend.

“I was never one to rush into anything and I think, ‘I’m only 26’, but I know I want to be with Marcel long-term,” Gabby had told Mail Online previously.

Addressing their lack of pictures together on social media in recent weeks, Gabby added, “I just don’t feel the need to publicise my life on social media when I’m sitting on the couch.”
