Zayn Malik under fire after making plea to fans to donate money

Former One Direction star Zayn Malik has made a plea to his loyal fans to donate money to help his mum’s best friend, Ayesha Butt, who needs life-saving surgery.

But some have slammed the star saying he should pay for the treatment himself considering his has “millions” of pounds.

The 24-year-old wrote on Twitter: “This is my Mums best friend Please help in any way possible [sic],” alongside a Go Fund Me page.

But fans are suggesting Zayn should offer to pay for the £120,000 treatment himself.

One wrote: “He could have completely paid for it he doesn’t need our help. He’s filthy rich.”

Another added: “Instead of asking your fans why don’t you pay it lol.”

A third ranted: “You’re the one with millions. YOU help.”

But others were quick to defend the singer and praise him for raising awareness.

One said: “You are such a wonderful human being for what you’re doing.”

“Beautiful human being inside and out, proud to be your fan,” gushed another.

This emotional news comes after Zayn’s five-year-old cousin, Arshiya, passed away after losing her battle with a brain tumour back in March.

The singer’s family paid tribute to the little girl saying she was “too beautiful for Earth”.

Arshiya’s mother, Zileh Malik, posted a heartbreaking message alongside a photo of her daughter on Instagram.

She wrote: “An angel wrote in the book of life my baby’s date of birth, then whispered as she closed the book… ‘Too beautiful for earth’ RIP baby doll.”

Fans have immediately showered the family with love and paid their tributes.

One wrote: “#RIPArshiya So sorry for your loss @zaynmalik she was too young! Rest in peace little Arshiya.”

Another added: “RIP Arshiya heaven gain another angel, my prayers goes to the malik family [sic].”
