Simon Cowell is taking over our screens…

Simon Cowell has announced the start date for new show The X Factor: The Band.

“No one has a track record of putting together globally-successful bands like The X Factor,” said host Dermot O’Leary.

“And we’re about to do it again,” he added.

“The search is on for the next pop supergroup. Five people’s lives are about to change forever.”

Cancel all your Christmas party plans as the show will be on a few times during its launch week, with 90-minute shows on the Wednesday and Friday night.

We are going to try to find either the biggest boy group in the world, or the biggest girl group in the world.
