X Factor star and boyfriend attacked at knife point in their home

Former X Factor star Craig Colton has revealed he was a victim of a homophobic attack in his own home with his partner Shane Cooper where they were threatened at knife point.

Craig, who was in the singing competition in 2011, told his 214K Twitter followers about the distressing attack.

He wrote: “After a horrible night, of being attacked with a knife and homophobic rants at our own home, we find out the police can’t do anything.”

Fans were quick to show their support to the star with one writing: “Hi @CraigColtonUK and @ShaneCooperUK I hope your okay, Let ur fans know your safe. Think positive, that you were strong to get through it xx [sic].”

Another added: “That is disgusting. Then can and should do something. I hope you are both ok. I would complain xx [sic].”

“It’s such a shame that people do this in this day and age. I hope you guys are ok,” a third tweeted.

Craig was mentored by Gary Barlow on the singing show and managed to come in sixth place.

Craig’s partner Shane also tweeted: “Completely traumatised about this scary & horrific incident that took place in our home at 3am! We have Never felt so in danger #Retweet [sic].”

Geordie Shore star Holly Hagan was quick to show her support for the couple.

She wrote in reply: “Can’t believe this hope you’re both okay xxx.”

Blue’s Duncan James also showed his support by tweeting: “Omg this is terrible!!!”

The pair have not yet gone into detail over the attack and it’s uncertain over what actually happened.
