Paul Mason, 58, was once Britain’s fattest man.
Weighing an 79 stone, he managed to slim down to 19 stone when he had a stomach operation via the NHS five years ago.
Leaving the country for a new life in America shortly after, Paul says he now wants to return to the UK.
He’s ballooned back to 40 stone after the relationship with a woman he met there disintegrated, and says he can’t afford to cover the £100,000 medical treatment he now needs.

So Paul is hoping the NHS will foot the bill back home, but says he’s not a sponger.
The retired postman told The Sun: “I can understand people in Britain saying, ‘Why should my tax pay for him?’
“But I’m no sponger — I deserve it as much as any Brit. I contributed to society when I was working.
“We all fall apart when things get tough. Doing it over here in America has been the worst thing I could have done because there’s no support. But there is in the UK,” he said.

Paul says his weight gain is from food addiction.
This comes in spite of him receiving a gastric bypass under the NHS five years prior, which reduces the size of the stomach, and in turn is supposed to reduce hunger.
He claims he requires knee replacements, an adjustment to his bypass, the repair of multiple stomach hernias and psychological counselling.
Paul is no stranger to the limelight.
In addition to once being labelled the ‘world’s fattest man’ by the tabloids, he’s also appeared on various daytime talk shows, including This Morning.
He says he’s booked two return plane tickets to the UK.
