Britain’s Got Talent opens up to Lorraine about cancer scare

The star is now stripping off to raise awareness of male cancer

Ashley Banjo has revealed that he ignored a cancer scare until he started his new documentary.

The dancer, who launched his career after winning Britain’s Got Talent in 2009, stars in The Real Full Monty, which recreates memorable scenes from the iconic 1997 film Fully Monty.

It’s all in aid of helping raise awareness for male cancers, and Ashley is choreographing the show, which features many famous famous – Harry Judd, Matt Wolfenden and Mark Foster to name a few.

But while he was raising awareness, Ashley had his own worry, but brushed it off for quite some time.

Chatting to Lorraine on Thursday morning, he revealed: “I actually had a bit of a scare a little while ago, found a lump and refused to do anything about it. I was like, “No, it’ll be fine, I’m a dancer aren’t I, I’m fit and healthy’.

“I didn’t tell my wife, I didn’t tell my family, I didn’t go and get a check-up for a long time – and it was the programme that made me do it, and everything was fine.”

Luckily, there was no need to worry but, if it hadn’t been for the show, it might have been a different story.

The star, who is married to childhood sweet Francesca Banjo, shared an hilarious photo on his Instagram account on Tuesday.

It showed the Full Monty celebs dressed head-to-toe in Asda uniform. He captioned it: “It’s not every day you get to go and work for an afternoon in Asda’s with this lot 😂 This was just one of the weirder filming days on The real full monty 😅… Don’t miss it this Thursday on @itv8.30pm! #therealfullmonty [sic]”.

Talking about the show, which sees lots of hunky men strip off, the 28-year-old said:

“All I will say is, if I thought there was any chance of me getting through this entire show without getting involved, I had another thing coming.

“So I’m not going to reveal too much, but people should watch.”

Well, Ashley, we know you have NO problem at all getting your kit off.

His Instagram account is also flooded with shots of himself and his Diversity dancers showing off their ripped physiques.
