Wayne Rooney shares sweet photo of wife Coleen and kids

They all look really happy

We may not have been having the perfect summer here in the UK, but the sun’s certainly been shining over in America – just ask Wayne Rooney!

The former England footballer, 33, lives in Washington DC these days with his wife Coleen and their four sons.

And Wayne has shared a lovely picture on Instagram of the Rooney family enjoying an ice cream in one of the city’s parks.

After signing for DC United last year, Wayne flew his entire family – Coleen, 33, and their sons Kai, nine, Clay, six, Kit, three, and Cass, one – out to join him in the US capital.

And judging by the photo Wayne shared on Instagram, they seem to be settling in well.

Sitting on a park bench eating ice creams (except Wayne, who has a bottle of Coca-Cola), the family look relaxed and happy.

Wayne’s fans are pretty chuffed, too. The picture has already gained 110,000 likes, with many people leaving positive comments.

“Great family photo,” remarked one follower.

“Lovely photo and beautiful family. The kids all look like mini Rooneys,” joked another.

And a third simply wrote: “Happy family.”

It’s nice to see Wayne and Coleen looking content – the couple have had their fair share of problems over the past couple of years.

Their marriage came under intense scrutiny after Wayne was arrested for drink-driving in 2017 – with another woman sitting in the passenger seat.

However, Wayne and Coleen showed a united front earlier this month in a gorgeous black and white photo to celebrate their 11th wedding anniversary.

One fan commented on the Instagram snap: “Happy anniversary. It’s so nice to see people work through things instead of [moving] on to the next, in this day and age.

“When you love someone, you love them unconditionally.”
