Wayne Rooney reportedly issues Coleen with an ultimatum of his own

Couple are said to have held crisis talks

After everything that’s happened over the past week or so, you’d think Wayne Rooney would be bending over backwards to appease Coleen and try to save their marriage.

The pregnant WAG, 31, is said to be fuming after Wayne, also 31, was arrested for drink-driving last Friday, in another woman’s car.

Laura Simpson, who was in the passenger seat at the time, has since claimed that she and Wayne “kissed and hugged”, and even hinted that they might’ve ended up going further if they hadn’t been stopped by police.

However, rather than go back to his wife with his tail between his legs, the shamed footie star has reportedly come out fighting and issued Coleen with an ultimatum of his own.

According to The Sun, the couple have held crisis talks, but it wasn’t all one-way traffic, and the Everton striker reportedly had a few things he wanted to get off his chest, too.

“He’s told her he’s willing to stop going out if that means she’ll stay with him. But he hasn’t totally held back himself,” claimed a source.

“He’s pointed the finger at her over the number of holidays she takes, and she raised questions about his nights out with the lads.”

It’s been said that Coleen has taken TEN holidays this year. She was enjoying a sunny break in Mallorca with the couple’s three young sons when Wayne was arrested in the early hours of Friday morning.

She jetted home after hearing the news, but reportedly spent last weekend at her parents’ house amid allegations made by office worker Simpson that “we would’ve ended up [sleeping together], no doubt”.

The Sun initially claimed that Coleen was considering a divorce, and the source quoted in today’s report suggested that the situation remains serious.

“Coleen’s still furious with Wayne and is threatening all sorts,” they said. “Wayne’s just hoping she’ll calm down.”

However, it’s almost impossible to know how reliable these supposed “sources” are.

Certainly, Coleen seems to be bemused by where some of the quotes come from.

Yesterday, she tweeted: “Would love to meet all these so-called friends of mine who know me so well.”

She then elaborated: “I was being sarcastic towards all these great sources the press have…who I have probably never met in my life! I have the best friends.”

Wayne is due to appear in court on 18th September. As for his marriage, that trial may go on for some time yet.
