EastEnders viewers stunned as character is kidnapped

Please don't let him die...

EastEnders viewers were left fearing for Mick Carter’s life, after tonight’s episode ended with the pub landlord being bundled into the back of a van!

Everyone’s favourite cockney geezer was enjoying a well-deserved romantic meal with his missus when he heard his car alarm going off outside, and went to investigate.

But as Mick was giving his motor the once over to check there was no damage, some thugs jumped out of a van parked nearby – and attempted to kidnap him!

Viewers knew straight away that crook Aidan must be behind the terrible crime, as he’s now convinced that Mick has stolen the money from their recent heist. The Carters thought they had the ex-crim convinced with their story about their great uncle Perry and his war medals, but Aidan clearly had a trick up his sleeve to get Mick to confess…

Poor Linda was left terrified for her son Johnny’s wellbeing after Aidan approached her, making conversation about where Johnny had gone and how he was doing. Viewers wondered if perhaps Aidan may have somehow got to Johnny and done something to him – but it appears the gangster was going straight for the main man.

As Mick tried valiantly to fight off the thugs, it was clear that one against two just wasn’t going to work.

And after Linda went to see what was taking her hubby so long, she was shocked to look out of the window and witness Mick being manhandled into the van with a sack over his head!

But it wasn’t just Linda who was horrified by this shock turn of events – EastEnders fans took to Twitter to voice their concerns about Mick’s safety…

But most fans were just wondering how on earth Mick ended up being kidnapped in the first place…

It may have been a little far-fetched, but we know that Aidan is capable of inflicting some serious damage on his enemies – so there’s every chance that Mick might not make it out of his ordeal unscathed. But we wouldn’t want to be in EastEnders’ shoes if they bumped off our beloved Mick Carter!

Could Phil come to Mick’s rescue, though? Just before the kidnap happened, we saw him rounding up Vincent, Keanu and Billy, and getting them to meet him at the Arches – so could he have a plan to save Mick from wicked Aidan’s clutches? Or might it actually have been Phil who kidnapped Mick in order to keep him out of harm’s way?

Viewers will have to wait until Thursday to find out what happened to Mick – and will we finally discover what become of all that loot from the heist as well?

EastEnders continues at 7.30pm on BBC1, Thursday
