Brian Conley’s ‘breastfeeding’ stunt on Loose Women sparks viewer debate

We've seen it all now...

Comedian Brian Conley left Loose Women viewers divided on Friday’s show when he ‘breastfed’ Nadia Sawalha.

The antics started when Nadia and Andrea McLean asked Brian and Ross Kemp how they would feel about breastfeeding their baby.

But, both Brian and former EastEnders actor Ross weren’t keen on the idea and suggested just using a bottle of milk instead.

Andrea then asked Brian if he wanted to try out Loose Women’s very own version of the manual breastfeeding device.

Brian, 56, finally agreed to give the device a go and left the studio before returning wearing the device as he squirted ‘milk’ at the audience while holding a doll.

He asked an audience member: “Do you want a go?”

But things got slightly weirder as Brian asked Nadia if she wanted to try it out.

Standing over her, Brian squeezed the liquid into her mouth as the audience gasped.

Nadia said: “I can’t believe I just breastfed from Brian Conley.”

Andrea asked Brian: “Now that you’re wearing it, would you have breastfed using this?”

Brian replied: “No I wouldn’t. You wouldn’t know how much [to give the baby] and you could go a bit mad and drown it.”

As he felt the bra, he added: “It feels quite nice actually!”

Viewers watching from home didn’t know what to make of the segment, with some calling it “wrong”.

One person said: “This is all kinds of wrong. It’s not funny at all. It’s bloody lunchtime.”

Another ranted: “I take offence to this clip!! It’s a natural beautiful healthy thing that some mothers regretfully can’t do or struggle to! It’s not a joke.”

A third wrote: “Gosh what is happening with #loosewomen?”

Others found Brian and Nadia’s antics hilarious.

Meanwhile, during the discussion, Andrea asked the panel their thoughts on men breastfeeding their babies.

Ross, who played Grant Mitchell in the BBC soap, replied: “No, no, no.”

Nadia said: “When I’ve done the nine months carrying and pushed that baby out over a period of three days, I want all that lovely bit, the cuddles and the breastfeeding.

“So I wouldn’t of wanted [my husband] Mark [Adderley] to breastfeed at all.”

Andrea then asked: “But what if the wife was poorly?”

Nadia replied: “Well that’s different. Just generally I wouldn’t want him to breastfeed.”
